Fall Open House for Educators
Global Concerns Classroom partnered with Mercy Corps’ Action Center to End World Hunger on October 26, 2009 to host a Global Learning Open House for Educators. About 35 educators from the New York City area including some from Connecticut and New Jersey came to the Action Center at Battery Park City to dialogue and share their experiences engaging youth in global education.

Food for Thought’s Third Annual Walk for Plumpy’nut
On October 18, 2009, Food for Thought held its Third Annual Walk for Plumpy’nut fundraiser. Despite the cold and rain, over 60 local residents and students from York, Pennsylvania participated in the event which raised $4300 to support the purchase of Plumpy’nut, a peanut-based nutrition supplement for severely malnourished children, used in emergency nutrition programs in Africa.
